AppleLicious Tartlets

Apples are the ultimate all-season fruit—sweet in the spring and summer and crisp in fall and winter. Whether you're eating out of hand, swirling them through honey, or baking up something special, they never go out of season (sorry, pumpkin spice).

In this recipe, Laura’s Gourmet AppleLicious Crunch takes center stage in a stunning yet fuss-free tartlet that’s as elegant as it is easy. One bite, and it’ll earn a permanent spot in your dessert rotation.

Prep time:10 minutes
Cook Time:25 minutes
Servings:12 Tartlets

Ingredients

  • One large apple, Golden Delicious, Honeycrisp or your favorite, small dice
  • 1 tablespoon butter, unsalted
  • 2 tablespoons golden brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla bean paste
  • 1 square puff pastry, thawed
  • 1/2 cup AppleLicious Crunch

Instructions

  • Peel, core and small dice the apple
  • Heat a sauté pan over medium heat. Add butter. When butter has melted, add brown sugar and combine.
  • Add the diced apples and toss to combine. Season with vanilla bean paste and a pinch of kosher salt, if desired
  • Remove pan from oven and strain the apples from the syrup, reserving syrup.
  • Using a round or square cutter that is larger than the muffin tin, cut the puff pastry and place in the tins
  • Add the sautéed apples, then top with AppleLicious Crunch
  • Spoon the reserved syrup over the tartlets before baking.
  • Place in a preheated 350 degree conventional (325 convection) oven and bake until golden, about 10 minutes.
  • Cool and serve with ice cream or Chef Laura's Vanilla Bean Mascarpone Mousse (recipe on this site).
