Founder, Laura's Gourmet • Inventor of CounterCool

Built by a chef.
Proven in service.

"I created CounterCool because I needed it and nothing on the market fit the bill."

Taking a full sized speed rack off premise was impractical, but the practicality of the speed rack was still required. Designed with both the professional chef and home cook in mind, CounterCool created the space and organization I needed wherever I was cooking. Simply put, it creates usable vertical space where you need it, when you need it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will CounterCool fit in my kitchen?

Most kitchens, yes. Open and ready to use, it stands 18 inches deep (19 1/2 inches with the handle), 15 5/8 inches wide and 15 1/2 inches tall. Standard upper cabinets sit 18 inches above the counter, which leaves room to spare. If your cabinets hang lower, measure the gap before you order. Between uses, CounterCool folds down to just 5 inches and slides into a drawer, cabinet or pantry.

How does the fold-flat mechanism work?

It really is one motion. Press gently on the hinges and it opens effortlessly, from completely flat to fully open in under five seconds. Folding it back down is just as quick. Watch the demo to see it in action.

Is CounterCool suitable for a commercial kitchen environment?

Yes, and it was designed in one. The frame is commercial-grade aluminum, rated to hold up to 40 pounds and built for the pace of real prep and service. It brings the standard a working kitchen expects to any counter you set it on.

What makes CounterCool worth the price?

There is a real reason behind the price. CounterCool is a solution that is built to last, not to be replaced in a year. The frame is commercial-grade aluminum and the fold-flat hinge is patented, with the spacing and dimensions worked out over years of testing. This is a tool made to take daily use and last, which is why the chefs who buy one rarely go looking for another.

Do you offer wholesale pricing for restaurants and businesses?

Yes, we do. Our wholesale program offers business pricing for professional chefs, restaurants, caterers, hotels and other commercial kitchens. Apply for our Wholesale Program here. Already have a wholesale account? Log in on the same page.

Can I cook or heat food in a CounterCool?

No, and it is a fair question given how it looks. CounterCool is not an appliance. Nothing plugs in and nothing heats up. It is there to hold food, hot or cold, while you work, keeping your trays organized and off the counter.

What is the difference between CoolCaddy and CoolConnect?

They do two different jobs. CoolCaddy slides onto a side rail to put your tools and spices within easy reach, plus you can have up to two on each side. CoolConnect is a set of connectors that stacks one CounterCool on top of another, giving you additional usable vertical space in the same footprint.

Can I buy CoolCaddy and CoolConnect separately?

Yes. You can buy CoolCaddy and CoolConnect on their own to add to a CounterCool you already own. CoolConnect needs two CounterCools to make a stack. If you are buying CounterCool now, you can also get either one in a bundle at the top of this page: the CoolCaddy Bundle (one CounterCool and one CoolCaddy) or the CoolConnect Bundle (two CounterCools and one CoolConnect).

How do I clean CounterCool and its accessories?

Easily. A wipe down with a damp cloth is all it usually needs. The aluminum resists rust and corrosion, which means it holds up to daily use without any special care. CoolCaddy and CoolConnect clean the same way, with a wipe down using a damp cloth.
